The Varied Designs And Architects For Parkmerced 2.0

While the master plan for the massive redevelopment of Parkmerced was developed by SOM, the development team has engaged five firms to design a variety of buildings for the first two subphases of the project, the ground for which is slated to be broken in February.

The five firms, designs and an overview of the varied buildings which will give the redevelopment a more organic feel:

1. Block 1 (300 Arballo) – 8 stories/91 units designed by Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects:

2. Block 1 (99 Vidal) – 4 stories/51 units designed by Fougeron Architecture:

3. Block 6 (455 Serrano/850 Gonzalez): 11 stories/258 units designed by Woods Bagot:

4. Block 20 (1188-1198 Junipero Serra) – 5 and 14 stories/190 units designed by Kwan Henmi:

5. Block 22 (21-25 Chumasero) – 14 stories/ 305 homes designed by SOM:

The designs for the second two subphases of Phase One, which will total 1,668 housing units of new housing when all is said and done, have yet to be revealed. We’ll keep you plugged-in.
